ā¢ Since Massachusetts legalized adult use cannabis in November 2018, the state has collected almost $4 billion in gross sales. Sales reached $1 billion in October 2020, $2 billion in July 2021 and $3 billion in May 2022. From January 1, 2022 through December 18, 2022 the state collected over $1.4 billion in adult-use sales. Medical cannabis sales for the same period was $260 million. Ā Prices, especially in flower specifically, have decreased since legalization. The price has fallen every month since June 2021, landing around $8 a gram in November 2022.Ā Ā In November 2018, there were 79 plants being harvested and today there are over 2.5 million. Farmers have warned that while the prices may be good for consumers, the grower will eventually cut costs wherever they can, leading to an inferior product. Full story here. |
